Hugh Hedley Lewis is a British actor, performing artist, writer & filmmaker who has recently moved back to the UK after spending the last 5 years studying and working in Los Angeles. Hugh was born and raised in Harrogate, England. At the age of 18 he moved to London, studying at Drama Centre London where he achieved his foundation in acting. Still eager to learn, Hugh decided to pack his bags and pursue a BFA in acting at the California Institute of the Arts. Over the years Hugh's passion has led him down numerous creative paths, acquiring experience in a wide variety of performance styles including clowning, dance, physical theatre, sketch comedy, improvisation, film, voice-over and heightened text.

Since graduating, Hugh has delved into the world of film-making. His most recent project Fine Details is a self produced short film exhibiting him as a writer, director, actor & producer. It includes collaborations with award winning cinematographers, actors, musicians & painters and will act as a proof of concept for a feature length film he hopes to make one day (soon). Hugh has also recently collaborated with his close friend and fellow film maker Christian King to produce a feature length documentary following the annual golfing event The Lockdown Invitational. This work doesn’t just exhibit Hugh as a filmmaker but also an actor as he plays the self written, scandalous Bernie Eagles.

Hugh believes art is a vessel to escape and hopes his work can take you on a journey to something beyond.
